I lived that today. 😅 Went to a comic con at Midland Mall with Todd’s kids and wound up having one of Gavin’s friends and her little sister in tow and she kept telling her dad he could go do whatever “Because we have adult supervision” referring to me 😅 Thankfully they were well behaved, just wanted to walk around a lot (and play with the speakers in Target which I think almost got us kicked out *oops*) It’s weird being the adult. Three years ago (just before the rona) we took these kiddos to see Sonic for their 11th birthday. This year these 14 year olds were gifted Kindles (by us) and flip phones (by thei aunt and uncle) this year and requested pizza for their bday dinner....

Three years ago (just before the rona) we took these kiddos to see Sonic for their 11th birthday. This year these 14 year olds were gifted Kindles (by us) and flip phones (by thei aunt and uncle) this year and requested pizza for their bday dinner. It’s wild how fast time goes by and how much changes in the blink of an eye. I don’t even remember them having such baby faces, but now they’re definitely in the throes of teeangedom. I’m so glad to be able to be part of their lives and I’m excited for this next chapter where they can text and call at their leisure (which Grace was certainly doing today) haha Happy 14th Birthday to Grace and Gavin 😊🎂🎁🎉

From being the girl with the coolest last name in my first college class, then to being one of my closest friends who is down for anything and never shows up empty handed, to now being my sister in law. People always say how hard it is to make friends after high school. I guess I’m just lucky. Lucky to have met you, lucky you were patient with me through all of my bad ideas, poor choices, and growing pains of my 20s, lucky that you’ve found a place in my family. It’s wild to think that I met you 11 years ago because it feels like you’ve always been there. My world would be so much dimmer without you in it. Happy Birthday @_carole_of_rae
